Our story

Laloli was never simply created to be a venue. It began as a family garden.

Decades ago, Garry and Jeneve set out to transform what was once a working cane farm into the sprawling, romantic sanctuary you see today. Guided by the memory of the old country gardens from Jeneve’s childhood—meandering paths, towering trees, hidden alcoves, and just a touch of wildness—the garden grew right alongside their family.

It became a place for children to explore, families to gather, and friends to connect. In time, it naturally evolved into a place for other families to begin their own stories, too.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The name Laloli was born from three simple, guiding words: Laugh. Love. Live. (La. Lo. Li.)

A New Chapter

In 2026, we—Drew and Sam—became the proud new custodians of Laloli, deeply honoured to protect and carry forward the extraordinary legacy that Garry and Jeneve built.

In a wonderful twist of fate, Laloli carries another meaning that is deeply personal to our own family. In Sam’s traditional language from the Trobriand Islands of Papua New Guinea, “Laloli” means “to drop anchor.”

For us, it feels like a quiet kind of magic. A place to arrive. To belong. To put down roots. And for couples stepping into a life together, a place to drop anchor.

Our dream is not to alter what makes Laloli so sacred, but to nurture it, protect it, and let its story breathe. We can’t wait to welcome a new generation of love, laughter, and unforgettable celebrations beneath these trees.

Welcome to Laloli,

Drew & Sam
